I have made it my friends to the ultimate destination in Elite Dangerous, Sagittarius A*. It was quite a long journey, and somehow I am still at 100% hull, but I finally made it. Not exactly sure what to do now though. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate another goal I need to accomplish.

LOL! The comment immediately reminded me of "The Fountain", from the Fountain of Lamneth! I was a great fan of the original Elite on the Spectrum. One day I might try this new version, for old time's sakes. Looks very cool.

Nice. Just did the launch training exercise (on the new version, I clarify). It has come a long way, considering it was programmed by a couple of bored guys thirty years ago.

Well, yesterday I did a couple of trader flights already, without denting the "AIM-9" yet, and basically with the object of setting the key and JS controls as DCS-esque as possible. It is great; essentially the same feel of the original game, but with the video card and the added bonus of a lot of work from the GFX team filling in the gaps our imaginations once had to work hard at doing. A few different things yet to understand, ie; this faction thing, and wing men.

I know, apart from Erik, there are a few more members of the F99th who play this. I take it the Open Play is the online play of the game, so if on your travels you ever bump into and ID a certain harmless, penniless and aimless ('bout sums it up, yes, ) Cmdr Cygon_Parrot, please don't shoot!

my friend just got the game and last i checked, we can buy fuel "limpits" or something and can litterally shoot you fuel into your cargo hold, 1 ton at a time using these canisters

I have the game and wanted to get into it. I have no idea wtf i'm doing and didn't have anyone to play with so i somewhat just shelved it. If we have some people and some newbs i wouldn't mind picking it back up and giving it a go. I think i'm really just biding my time for star citizen

Hah! I was going to ask if there was a way to do "space to space" refueling, and set off on a rescue Tracer mission as my first in game objective. Then I read the post (above). LOL!

Where do you get these fuel limpets? Can a simple Sidewinder carry them? And... where, oh where, in the galaxy might Tracer be???

I am glad to see so many of us have the game, and there's a TS channel for it, I notice. Do you all have the same Elite user names as for the F99th / DCS?

I'm S77th-runny. From reading the FAQs it looks like it's not possible to change your name short of starting over but I might send a support ticket anyway.

I got the game just because a lot of the guys were getting into it. I'll probably play it some more but I'm not that into it. To me it's too much of s grind and not enough of a game. I prefer DCS and ArmA way over any game I've found so far.

I hear you. I'm a bit selective of what I'll eventually download and install, myself. Elite always was a bit of a "job", but I made an exception for reasons of nostalgia. It is nothing like that Second Life BS I read something about a while ago; that seems appalling. Apart from DCS and this one, I would probably only stretch to Command, which we were talking about last night and which I've been watching for a while based on my previous addiction to Harpoon.

Lol yeah I guess I am. Tracer there is a group of players known as the Fuel Rats. They will actually come rescue those who run out of fuel. You can find more information here:
