Something my dad left me.. #241
1930 Ford
Custom built from the ground up. He built many cars over his and my life time, but this was his baby and the one he kept. While it is a Ford.. My dad loved Chevy motors - and so that's what he put in this...a Chevy 350 with a matching Trans. He custom built the drive shaft - Ford on one end - Chevy on the other. So many little custom things he did. Many awards on the walls in the house for the cars that he's built over the years.

Will have more pics of it later.

Beautiful engineering from the time when they used to say "let's put a little more substance into this than we think it might need" rather than "let's see how little metal - and how thin it is - we can get away with". I have rebuilt 350 V8 (for GM ex-school bus) and 250 I6 (Ford Maverick) engines in my time, and they are wonderful to work on.

Still with carburetor and points ignition?

Respects. It is a great job!

knowing my dad, if it was a points based system, he replaced / upgraded it to an HEI system at some point I'm sure. He never kept the points based distributors.
