Please Join me in registering for this event on 8/31 at 2100 for Rise of the Wolfpack : Capture of Teberda

This is a HELO centric mission gents. Bring your A game. All platforms will be needed so don't shy away from this mission!

SITREP:
Valuable mineral resources have been found in the quiet mountain town of Teberda. Russian and U.S. Forces are converging on the area in an attempt to be the first to exploit this newly discovered wealth of minerals, including several gold mines.

Excavation teams have marked off 10 zones 50 meters wide in the town of Teberda which they have marked with GREEN smoke.

Helo flight is to deliver ground forces to each zone, turning it blue or red. The winner must capture & hold all zones at the same time.

CAS flight must assist helo flight in taking out harder targets.

Will need to eliminate each group of reinforcements that arrive from enemy troop movements. Consider fuel and loiter time.

CAP flight must keep the skies of Teberda clear so that helo and CAS flight can do their jobs. Tankers are in the area.

--ZONE CAPTURE COULD TAKE UP TO 5 MINS ONCE YOUR TROOPS ARE IN THE ZONE. GIVE IT TIME!
--REINFORCMENTS ARRIVE ONCE PER SIDE PER ZONE. ALL OTHER REINFORCEMENTS MUST BE GC'ED FROM THE FARPS.
--SMOKE MARKERS CHANGE COLOR ONCE YOU CONTROL THE ZONE.

COLOR CODES FOR SMOKED ZONES:

RED = OWNED BY RED TEAM
BLUE = OWNED BY BLUE TEAM
ORANGE = CONTESTED (BOTH TEAMS PRESENT (WATCH YOUR FIRE!)
GREEN = NO TEAM PRESENT, READY FOR CAPTURE.

INTEL & MISSION PROCEDURES:
We must capture and hold the town of Teberda!
Fly troops to the 10 zones marked with smoke. Zone could take upto 5 MINS to turn. Either remain in place or leave troops at the smoke.
Call in CAS flights for heavier targets.

Would recommend putting tanker 1 (20k) at 300 KGS and tanker 2 (25k) at 400 KGS.

Equates to 220 and 270 KIAS in DCS standard weather.

Yeah we played, i reset the mission and we gave her hell, was fun, but a tad dark. Dynamic or something (a person) came on our server and was talking trash, and Pyro, Ktulu and others kept killing him, it was glorious

Mission needs tweaking for lag. I think that some of the things we can get away with in 2.0 are causing issues in 1.5 due to it not being as optimized. A lot of pilots were complaining about the lag. One even commented that he thought he was watching a powerpoint for a while there.... due to a mass of CBU's being dropped at once.

Not much I can do about CBU lag.

I removed tons of units on both sides replacing with just the 10 groups on each side to hold the zones. Not sure what else I can do.

I had high fps loss even when CBUs weren't being dropped. Maybe bring the unit count down by 1/4 and take the CBU out?

From what I read they messed wit the view .lua so that it renders stuff way farther out than it used too. This could be the source of some of the lag because even I was tanking my FPS down to like 10-15. I may try experimenting with some of the view distance settings today
