It's a beaut tho.. taxi'ed it around (hot start) and got it in the air for a bout 20 mins of playing with the auto pilot controls before heading off to bed.

Don't think the 777 is made for that Itty bitty runway. Barely got it off the ground.

I feel partially to blame. Nick has only ever talked about his 737 NGX, I was the one with the 777 fixation even though I don't have any of this stuff.

Took you long enough. Ha. Plus merican company. Less painful than the airbus.
Talking about reach arounds In a plane sounds like a fantasy of yours lmao

I quite like the 757 too but something about the 777 calls me lol

I don't know, Nick. That sounds just like the sort of thing I drop in on TS and hear you and Sweeper talking about, lol!

LOL, Sweeper and Nick, always good to have a laugh with you!

On Tracer's subject about short field operations with "Heavy" appended suffix aircraft...

Have you got the Extended Range expansion for that Triple Seven, too? In any case, this should help you determine T/O and landing distances, as an off-hand, not too involved reference for general sim flying...

Airplane Characteristics

What you'll be interested in starts on page 42 of the pdf document.

And to determine the corresponding speeds for V1, Vr and V2, this guy seems to have made some utility which will take the hard work out of it, both for the 737 and 777. I haven't checked it, but hopefully you can still get it...

PS: Beware of it, though, on short runways. I'm pretty positive those are NOT going to be Balanced Field Length figures, especially where V1 is concerned. However, I'm sure you'll figure that out on your first RTO on a short runway, lol!

Have fun!

I picked up my 777 today, wow! Coming from the 37 the FMC is super familiar, but that and the options you get are wild. Satcomm? Sure. Weather data uplink? Sure. Brakes need replacing? Sure! It's wild, most of it inputs itself. It's fairly simple and quite alot of fun to work with. Learning that the NAVRAD page on the FMC deals with all your ILS, VOR stuff is quite cool too. Was trying to find it all on the center pedestal when I decided to look else where, even better is it will auto tune to that frequency for the runway you selected. This thing is insane and I love it. ER will be my next purchase I think.

I was able to hop in kind of figure it all out from the 37 and go to Edmonton from Vancouver. Should be able to help you with some of it no problem

I should mention Cygon, once you punch in the Departure airport/runway and do the perf init page, when you get to the takeoff page (right after the n1 limit) it'll ask for your flaps on take off that you'll be using. Once you punch that in, it should give you all your V-Speeds and you just need to hit the corresponding Vref button to input it in! I was about to enter all the weight stuff but before I could it already auto calculated everything for me haha, quite a cool system.
