No FSpassenger yet, but I just bought this beauty:

Flew from YVR to YEG which took about an hour and a half or so, after figuring out proper flight plans for the FMC that corresponded to the one ATC was aware of. Ended up switching the IFR plan shortly after takeoff wondering why ATC was directing me the wrong way (flight plan mismatch).

This was the climbout from Vancouver:

This was towards the end of the flight, getting close to the final approach. Had one missed approach as I couldn't figure out why CMD B wouldn't turn on and hold approach mode, they guided me off north of the city and back around, onto the approach at 3700ft.

Is that the PMDG 737NGX? Since you guys have been talking up all this FSX/P3D stuff I have been wanting to get that or their 777 and P3D so badly, but I have exactly $0.00 to spare so I'm at least $200.00 short.

How do you like it? I'm tempted to say I'd get the 777 but that HUD in the new 737s really calls to me. Plus I honestly can't say I foresee doing many of those 10+ hour flights that are really the whole reason behind the 777's existence, so in addition to the extra $30-40 (which feels like a very arbitrary price hike to me) there are a couple reasons that the 737 would be better.

Looks fantastic. Think you made the right call, P3D is definitely the way to go. I'm sure the learning is going gangbusters.

Yup it is the PMDG one, it's worth it. Only downfall I see is no shared cockpit in the PMDG aircraft.

I'm loving it man, the learning curve is steep but I can appreciate that. If you like a challenge this is the way to go, so far getting it to autoland and navigate with SID and STARS has been alot of fun interesting learning, got lots of power if you need to perform a go-around. It can do some of the longer flights if needed, so far I've been on a few of the shorter ones, Heathrow to Frankfurt, Vancouver to Edmonton and I'm currently flying the Navy P-8 poseidon from Los angeles to San Francisco. In my opinion this is definitely the way to go. The HUD is so incredibly useful once you're up in the air and for Landing.

P3D is 100% the way to go IMO, the smoothness and overall performance benefits just seem to be the way to go.

That's pretty awesome. I've been fretting at obtaining this one for myself, so the review is much appreciated. I was noticing in the last picture that you are able to "realistically" set dissimilar range scales on the navigation displays. You can't do that with the Aerosoft A-319; the right ND mode and scale mimics whatever you set for the left, on that one, as does the baro-ref, which is not right.

PS: I was going to add; too bad about it not being "shared cockpit" capable. However, before I do, have you seen this ? Take a look and see what you make of it...

Yeah its's amazing Cygon, you'd really enjoy it I think. You even need to have both F/D's on and both NAV1 Freq's set otherwise you won't be able to get both autopilots working to run the autoland system. I had the one screen on Terrain and the other one on weather which was really quite cool IMO.

I just read into that link there Cygon, downfall is it isn't for P3D yet, the guy needs the license to P3D before he can develop it for use with P3D. :(

Flew from KLAS to CYVR today, tried out active sky for the first time and am absolutely amazed. The change in weather was much welcomed as it added variety.

Clear skies at Vegas, ended up getting some cloud cover as I got closer to Seattle

Got closer to Vancouver and the skies really began to open up, the amount of precipitation I encountered upon the descent into the city was quite cool.

Ended up deciding to fly the approach by hand as Cygon watched me fly into the approach with FS cloud. I called off the first approach as I ended up off course and slightly fast, decided to go around to do an OK approach, ended up getting vectored by ATC around into the mountains up to 7,500. Cygon promptly informed me that there were mountains by me. I quickly flicked on the terrain radar and realized how close I was, luckily they vectored me off to 140 away from the mountains at about 23 miles out.

Ended up touching down nice and soft no issue. Bonus points for anyone who can note the difference in the plane I'm flying.

It was really cool watching that approach and listening to your commentary while you did your ADM process. That go around was hairy, not because of your execution of it, but the way the ATC flew you in IMC straight towards an elevation. I've since checked; the mountain was Mount Robie Reid, and it is an unexpectedly high elevation that close to the coast at 6,870 ft, so the altitude you got for the vector was indeed rather low.

The visuals of the storm in your screenie, with the lightning in the cloud, is pretty amazing. We'll have to ask Magnet if there was a storm that bad around his area, lol!

All good stuff!

haha I'm sure I sounded ridiculous as you heard the mild confusion set in at some parts. I agree, the go-around didn't seem thaaaaat bad, until you mentioned that I was beside mountains haha. They had me sit at 7,200 for a bit and then to 7,500, finally up to 8,000. Would love to know how it actually is IRL.

Flew an approach into my city today, it just snowed (IRL) and visibility was actually shitty. Active sky really made that work well, at one point the METAR reported 1/2SM of visibility. Most of the descent in after 10,000 was just cloud. No indication where I was other than some vectors from ATC and that was about it. My mic isn't recorded when I'm recording so of course you'll only hear Tracer speaking ha. I was hoping for a little less visibility coming into the landing, however it wasn't all that bad. I also forgot about landing lights until the last second as I was busy most of the approach checking over systems making sure the plane was flying level.

Hah! Getting there with those flights, looking at your cash flow in the post flight analysis. The performance details on those briefs are really useful for your next flights, I find, especially if you can't find much about your aircraft with real world docs, as with that S-42 I'm currently flying on FSX.

Don't know what the exchange rate is between forum bucks and FsPax bucks, but here's five of them to keep you motivated toward that triple seven! And yeah, hire me anytime, to give Russ a break. He must be pushing his Part 121 duty time/rest period cycle, by now, lol!

I'm wondering when Tracer is going to give us a forum review of that Air Hauler 2 add on he's been playing with. It sounds like it is developing into something pretty awesome!

Congrats Cygon, you're the pilot of my 737-900 haha! Managed to grab one for $40,000,000 with 2200 hours on it. Yah it really helps to have the post analysis. Last night I flew to KPSP again and made $13,000,000, that was with the 736 doing it's own little flight and making $2,000,000. Soon enough I'll have a few more 37's to feed into a 777! Yah I love the idea of a shared company with AH2. Sounds like a really neat program.
