Tracer's FSX Flight Log #3908

Ah! I was looking at that. Might save some fiddling with ADX that I have been doing to level those few airports I find at the bottom of sink holes, since I updated the land meshes to FreeMeshX. However, I am not certain that it will be compatible. In any case, standing by for your impressions of it, while I continue to look if there are any issues with FreeMeshX.

Also, I was looking at this , being an ex-glider pilot, and checking out the potential of the SDK a bit. I remember back on FS98 there was something similar, a specific language called SCASM (I think), that this kit replaces and which also allowed the definition of believable thermals. There's a whole new facet there to get into, and not only for the gliding. Won't be anytime soon for me though. I'm up to my eyebrows with "chores" to the end of June.

Not a problem, it was an emergency landing in your case. I really wish I could have taped the commentary between Nick and Tracer on TS, it was like the funniest comedy I ever heard;

"I'm going to move to the other seat, I think we're in the same one."

"Why have I got no power?!"

"Why are you moving the blue knob?"

"I'm not moving the blue knob."

"I've got a confession to make..."

ROFL!

PS: That's a cool looking model, though.

Off the end of the runway

"So you remember when we were just turning for base? Well..."

That was a lot of fun last night and quite hilarious

So to fully flesh out what these guys are talking about...

Nick and I were sharing the cockpit in our new TBM850. We followed Cygon, who was flying a DC6, and left KTEX. We flew around for a few mins and Nick, who was piloting deciding to do a touch and go. Nick not knowing the airport approached from the wrong direction so we had to go around (see the steep turning pic, with KTEX out our port side.) we leveled out from that point and flew past the airport to line up for our approach..

This is where T.H.E happened..

I did not touch the blue knob..

I touched the red one..(something about fuel cutoff)

Next thing you know Nick is whining about not having power or something..I'm yelling at him "Mountain!!" He's yelling "I know! I got no power!, whats going on!" I'm snickering...hehe... Despite my sabotage, Nick set the plane down very nicely and we all survived.. as we landed, Cygon buzzed us in his DC6.

Good fun! :)

Too many G's, was that an aggressive take off or something, or just a product of the bad weather?

Ah! Nice. Long time since I've seen one of your logs. Is this actually FSX or P3D? Got to show a shorter movie, must have been Les Misérables :D

I still do a bit of FSX, reviewing all sorts of old fashioned navigation techniques, and getting to grips with the difficulties of DR navigation in AeroSoft's Antarctica-X , LOL! Plus, I'm not much of a skin maker, but as practice for hitting DCS, I modified the Virtavia Canberra to one of Ecuador's Air Force ones, 405. There's a flight in store for it!

Bad trim coupled with forgetting how that particular auto Pilot worked. (q400).

Been awhile since I flown it. =)

It got away from me while I trying to remember how to set the auto Pilot to use the fms as the source. So when I pushed the nose down to stop the stall i was about to enter.. I skeer'ed Em a wee bit as we say in Texas..

P3d

Lol, yeah, the crash surprised everyone... I've realized that by the time you think something is wrong... It was actually wrong about 10-20 min ago...

Did well right up until the end (famous last words) then starting fighting with the auto Pilot.. Alarms were going off and lights were blinking and while I was trying to find out why.. I lost track of where and how high I was. =(

FLY THE AIRCRAFT!

Does FedEx really fly a Triple Seven or is this a fictional skin? I saw the purple and thought "Oh cool, MD-10. Right on." But then it was missing a #2 engine. 777 is even more awesome, of course.
